About Grantel

We build calm software
for the teams doing the work.

Grantel is new. We're a small team in India building the tool we wished we had when we watched good people spend half their week fighting spreadsheets instead of doing the mission.

Our story

How it started.

Grantel started recently, out of a simple observation: nonprofit teams spend half their week fighting spreadsheets instead of doing the mission. Who applied for what, which disbursement was overdue, which program needed a report drafted by Friday - the work behind the work was eating the work itself.

We tried every off-the-shelf tool first. Nothing fit. Generic CRMs didn't understand grants. Grant-management tools were built for the 2010s and felt like it. So we started sketching - what would a calm tool look like? One that treated the people doing the work as craftspeople, not data-entry clerks?

"Nonprofits don't need more software. They need one calm place to work."

That sketch became Grantel. We're early - a small team based in India, building in public and shipping carefully. No inflated user counts, no logos we haven't earned.

Every feature so far has started with a real nonprofit's problem and ended with their fingerprint on it. If that's the kind of tool you want, we'd love to build alongside you.

Our principles

The way we build.

Six principles that guide every product decision.

i.

Calm, not clever

Software should fade into the work. No dashboards that demand attention. No notifications that don't matter.

ii.

One workspace, one truth

Your leads, applications, disbursements, and reports share a single data model. No double-entry, ever.

iii.

Serve the mission

We're not here to sell more seats. We're here to help more good work happen in the world.

iv.

Honest about where we are

We're early. If a feature isn't shipped, we don't show a screenshot of it. If a customer count is small, we say the number. No inflation.

v.

Honest product marketing

If we don't have a feature, we say so. If something's in beta, we flag it. No screenshots of work we haven't shipped.

vi.

Built in public

Public roadmap, public changelog, public office hours. You see what we see.

The team

A small team in India.

Grantel is built by a small founding team based in India. We've worked inside and alongside nonprofits, and we're building the tool we wished we had.

We're hiring slowly and deliberately. Open roles are listed on the careers page, and if you think you'd fit somewhere we haven't advertised yet, write to hello@grantel.net.

What we believe

A few things we hold to.

on craft

Details matter, quietly.

Every spacing decision, every label, every loading state - small choices add up to whether a tool feels like a friend or a frustration. We'd rather ship one thing well than five things okay.

on focus

No feature for feature's sake.

If a feature doesn't directly help a nonprofit do more good, we don't build it. Our roadmap is short on purpose.

on trust

Your data is yours.

Export anything, anytime. We don't sell data. We don't train AI on it. Cancel and take everything with you.

on respect

Nonprofit staff are professionals.

We build for craft. No gamification, no dark patterns, no "growth hacks." Software made with the same care the work deserves.
