Why we exist

Nonprofits deserve better than Excel and email.

Grantel was built by people who spent years running nonprofit operations across global. Every feature exists because an nonprofits needed it - not because it looked clever in a product meeting.

We're early, small, and honest about it. Joining now means shaping a product that will be used by program managers, grant officers, and founders pulling all-nighters before a reporting deadline.

How we work

Six beliefs that shape every decision.

Ship the boring thing.

A CSV import that works beats an AI assistant that almost works. Our users don't need magic - they need their Tuesday afternoon back.

Write things down.

Every feature gets a spec, a changelog entry, and a section in the user guide. If we can't explain it to a program manager in two paragraphs, it isn't done.

The NGO is the expert.

We don't tell nonprofits how grant ops should work. We ask, watch, and copy what the best teams already do.

Security isn't a tab.

Row-level security, audit logs, and encryption at rest were in v1.0, not bolted on for enterprise. Data is our first and only product.

Pre-launch means pre-launch.

We don't invent testimonials, fake case studies, or pretend to have SOC 2. If it's on the roadmap, we say roadmap.

Slow is smooth.

We ship once a month, not once a day. Nonprofits can't absorb constant change; they need a platform that stays still while they do their work.

How we hire

Three steps. No whiteboard riddles.

We respect your time. The whole process takes two weeks from first reply to offer. Every candidate gets a reply - even a no.

Intro call

30 minutes with a founder. We tell you the honest state of the product, you tell us what you care about.

30 min · Week 1

Short exercise

A scoped, task that mirrors real work, drafting a sample post or content calendar. 2 to 3 hours.

120 min · Week 1

Decision

Offer or pass, within 48 hours. References called only after you accept, so you can go first.
