Grantel FAQ.
Everything worth asking about Grantel - pricing, plans, data, security, and how we work. Grouped so you can find what you need fast.
01Getting started
Trial, onboarding, and the first 21 days.
Can I try Grantel before paying?
Yes. Every new organisation gets a 21-day free trial with up to 1 user and full access to Leads and Applications. No credit card required. Sustainability AI and Team Performance are Pro-only and not included in the trial.
What happens when the trial expires?
You can still log in and your data is preserved. You're redirected to the pricing page and can only access Pricing, Settings, and Billing until you subscribe. Nothing is deleted.
How long does setup take?
Most teams are running within a day. Kickoff is a 60-minute session where we help you import existing grants and configure your programme structure. No implementation fees.
02Pricing & billing
Plans, currencies, GST, refunds, and changes.
What currencies can I pay in?
Indian Rupees (INR). Pricing, invoices, and Razorpay checkout are all in ₹.
How does annual billing work?
Annual plans are a flat yearly charge. Core annual is ₹36,000 ₹18,000 with the early-bird discount (₹1,500/mo equivalent). Pro annual is ₹48,000 ₹24,000 with the early-bird discount (₹2,000/mo equivalent). Pay once, cover the full year.
Can I switch between plans?
Yes. Upgrade from Core to Pro anytime - the difference is pro-rated and charged immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Only Org Admins can change plans.
Do you offer nonprofit discounts?
Grantel is already priced for nonprofits. Very small NGOs with genuine budget constraints can email hello@grantel.net - we consider case-by-case pricing for founding partners.
Is GST charged on Indian subscriptions?
If Grantel's annual revenue exceeds the GST threshold, 18% GST is added to invoices for Indian customers. Every Razorpay invoice is GST-compliant and includes your organisation's GSTIN if you've provided one.
Are refunds available?
No refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, the remaining time is forfeited but your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Contact support before cancelling if you need to discuss an exception.
What payment methods do you accept?
Razorpay-powered checkout supports UPI, cards (Visa/Mastercard/Amex), net banking, wallets, and EMI. International cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) are accepted for customers outside India.
03Data & ownership
Export, retention, and what happens if you cancel.
Can I get a copy of all my data?
Yes. Export is a first-class feature - CSV and JSON from inside the app, any time, for every plan. If you need a one-time full database dump, email us.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is preserved for 21 days after cancellation. You can re-subscribe and pick up where you left off. After 21 days, data is permanently deleted. Export everything via Settings → Data Export → Export All before you cancel if you want a local copy.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. Grantel does not sell user data and does not use organisational data for independent purposes. Revenue comes from subscriptions only. Read our Data Protection statement for the full position.
04Security
Where data lives, who can access it, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Where is my data stored?
In managed Postgres on AWS, primary region Mumbai (ap-south-1). Data residency in the EU or US is on our roadmap and already available for design-partner engagements on request.
Who built Grantel, and what runs it?
Grantel is built by a small team using Lovable as our development environment, with Supabase (managed Postgres) as our database and auth provider, running on AWS. We believe the stack we use is as material as any policy - so we publish it.
Who has access to my data internally?
Access is minimised and audit-logged. Team members only access production data when responding to a support request you initiated, or when troubleshooting an issue that affects you. Every access event is recorded and available on request.
What happens if there's a security incident?
We commit to notifying affected customers within 72 hours of confirming an incident, with a plain-language summary of what happened, what data was involved, and what we're doing about it. A fuller post-mortem follows within 30 days.
Are backups encrypted?
Yes. Backups are encrypted at rest using the same AES-256 standard as live data, managed by our database provider, and stored in a separate availability zone.
How do I report a vulnerability?
Email hello@grantel.net with "security" in the subject. We commit to acknowledging within 2 business days and to not taking legal action against good-faith research.
05Product & access
What's included, who can use it, and what's on the roadmap.
Do you support SSO?
Not yet, and we won't pretend otherwise. SSO (SAML, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) is on the roadmap for our Pro tier. Until then, we enforce strong-password + MFA on every account.
When will you have SOC 2?
We're at the readiness stage. Our intent is to complete SOC 2 Type I within 2026 and Type II within 2027. In the meantime we publish our controls on the Security Policy page and share monitoring evidence with procurement teams on request.
Can I see what's been shipped and what's coming?
Yes. Every release is documented on our release notes, including patches, security updates, and breaking changes. Roadmap items are shared with design partners monthly.
